I had the pleasure of attending the Diamond riding centre this morning with John Thurlow, Roger Hurst and Chris Eley (photographer).

The reason for the visit was to present them with a cheque for £2625.00 part of the money raised at the Inter County Bowls Day held in Surrey.

Surrey masons have a long history with this charity supporting it throughout the years.

We had a lovely guided tour of the facilities which have been helping children and adults with learning, behavioural difficulties and also physical disabilities for over 50 years!!

Diamond Riding Surrey Freemasons Bowls

They have 23 horses on site and have over 350 riders a week from special needs schools in the local area using the facilities. With over 300 volunteers helping out and a great community spirit.

They also have outdoor and indoor arenas.

The Diamond Riding Centre has also received many awards for the work they do including the Queens award in 2009.

It was a pleasure seeing first hand today what they provide for their local area.
