On Sunday 2nd August 2026, the Surrey 1837 Club headed to the iconic Buckmore Park Kart Circuit in Kent for another memorable social event, a thrilling 60-minute Endurance Grand Prix that brought together 28 Surrey Freemasons, together with family members and friends.
With 18 teams taking to the circuit, the afternoon was packed with close racing, friendly rivalry and plenty of laughter.
Following a mandatory safety briefing and a 10-minute practice session, the race got underway. Competitors had two options: either share a kart with a teammate, swapping drivers every 15 minutes, or take on the ultimate endurance challenge by driving solo for the full 60-minute race.
While the atmosphere in the paddock was relaxed and welcoming, the moment the lights went out it became every driver for themselves!
Friendly banter was temporarily replaced by fierce competition as drivers battled for every position around one of Britain’s most famous kart circuits. Fortunately, once the chequered flag fell, the smiles quickly returned and everyone could look back on a fantastic afternoon together.
Adding to the fun, every team selected its own team name, bringing even more personality and humour to the event.

Organising an event of this scale takes considerable effort, and his dedication was appreciated by everyone who attended.
The Surrey 1837 Club continues to demonstrate that it is run by its members, for its members.
Every event is organised with one simple aim: to bring Freemasons together from across the Province, strengthen existing friendships, create new ones, and provide opportunities to enjoy each other’s company outside the Lodge room.
The Buckmore Park Grand Prix achieved exactly that.
Blessed with glorious weather, fantastic racing and excellent company, it was another outstanding Surrey 1837 Club event and a wonderful example of Freemasonry in action.
With another successful event now in the history books, members are already looking forward to the next Surrey 1837 Club adventure.
