☀️ What a fantastic day at the Addiscombe Lodge Summer BBQ! 🍔
Around 100 guests joined us for an afternoon full of friendship, laughter and true Masonic fellowship. It was wonderful to see so many Brethren, families and friends enjoying themselves in the sunshine.
A huge thank you to W.Bro. Alan Pryor and W.Bro. Rob Press for all the hard work that went into organising such a successful event, your efforts certainly paid off.
A special thank you to W.Bro. Rob, his son and Bro. Nathan L Cook for doing a brilliant job on the BBQ and keeping everyone well fed throughout the afternoon.
Thank you also to W.Bro. Mark Moose for bringing along the fantastic tabletop horse racing, which proved to be a real crowd favourite and added even more fun to the day.
Our sincere thanks also go to Nutfield Centre and W.Bro. Robin Ilott for being such wonderful hosts and making everyone feel so welcome.
I’m delighted that we raised £100 for TLC, supporting a charity that makes such a difference to children in hospital.
Even more incredibly, the raffle and tabletop horse racing raised over £1,000 for the Surrey Festival, demonstrating once again the generosity and charitable spirit of everyone who attended.
Thank you to everyone who bought tickets, took part and donated so generously.
For me, one of the biggest highlights of the day was seeing so many of the younger generation getting involved, helping throughout the day and taking the opportunity to look around the Temple. They are the future of our fraternity.
Perhaps most encouraging of all was the number of conversations we had with people interested in Freemasonry. We have several potential candidates, which is fantastic news for the future of Addiscombe Lodge.
Days like this remind us what Freemasonry is truly about—friendship, family, fun and charity. Opening our doors, supporting worthy causes and sharing what we do with the wider community can only strengthen our Lodge for years to come.
