We asked brethren to complete a short questionnaire (taking only 10 minutes) about their journey in Freemasonry.
This month, Naresh Bhatt has answered our questions. Naresh is a Solution Support Specialist and has been in Masonry for nearly 20 years.
Here are his answers:
What are your interests/hobbies?
F1, cars (old and new), walking, cycling, gadgets, reading and socialising
Which lodge are you a member of?
Table Fellowship Lodge 8989
How did you get in to Freemasonry?
I was first approached by a Round Table friend outside B & Q in Croydon, who was, and is a member of TFL8989 asking me if I was interested in joining Freemasonry. He told me all about TFL and I was interested immediately as, one I knew a lot of the membership from my days as a member of Mitcham Round Table No.437, and Round Table Area 18. For me, having finished with Round Table and not interested in joining the Rotary Club, joining TFL was a natural progression from Round Table. One reason being that Round Table’s aims and objects are so similar to that of Freemasonry and of course the continuation of Fellowship that I had enjoyed as a Round Tabler.
How long have you been a Mason?
What rank are you?
What were your first views of Freemasonry?
That Round Table’s aims and objects are so similar to that of Freemasonry and of course the continuation of Fellowship that I had enjoyed as a Round Tabler.
What are your views now?
Since joining the Fraternity, I have learnt to be a more confident person and not as nervous as I used to be when standing if front of a crowd of people to deliver training or recite a Charge.
What aspects of Freemasonry do you enjoy?
Organising, may it be Ladies Night/Weekend, Meetings or other events. And community service.
